c+p from weliveforthis, still need suggestions [07 Jan 2011|03:01am]
It's almost February which in my life means getting everything ready for the season. Usually that just means making commercials and video board graphics. Luckily (ha) this year, I've gotten the lucky task of coming up with a lot of the music for the season. The only problem is that after three seasons I'm drawing a blank as to what I should even play when it comes to situational music. I'm pretty much set with k's and walks, I have a couple of things for stolen bases, home pitching changes, away hits and errors, but that's about it. So my question is do you guys have any suggestions as what I can play, please let me know. Thanks guys!

What I have thus far!Collapse )

My job is fuckin' awesome. [06 Apr 2009|06:18pm]
Nothing interesting about Media Day unless you want to hear about guys showing up for their player bio video in their boxers and sliding shorts or me fan girling about how adorable Tim McNab is (my official favourite BMet and not only because he is from Cooper City) or how effin' rude the spanish players were. Nah, I would never go on about something like that. Instead I'll just let everyone be jealous at the fact that I got to spend my lunch eating in the away dugout watching practice and opening day baseball in the jumbotron.

Yeah, envy me.

But seriously, Tim McNab is adorable and silly and just great. I was in charge of getting a-bat and warm-up music and when he found out he I was getting music he ran out of the clubhouse. He ended up coming back with a napkin and the song scribbled on it and when he handed it to me he told me how he had to google search good at-bat songs. LOVED IT. Too bad his numbers and his age have destined him to forever be in the minors.

Pedro Martinez and the Florida Marlins are believed to be in the beginning stages of negotiating a contract and could meet next week, a source told Saturday night.

Que with the what now? I am seriously at a loss. There are no words. Well, there are three that come to mind. I just don't know anymore.

According to [television reporter Mike] Lynch, who cited unnamed sources, the Red Sox were offering an eight-year, $184 million contract (average annual value -- $23 million) and are hopeful they can wrap up a deal tonight.

The Globe's Adam Kilgore has confirmed that Boras is in Dallas tonight. We are presently trying to confirm the rest of the information.

The Mighty Gammons has spoken as well. And so it was. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!

Henry's words: "We met with Mr. Teixeira and were very much impressed with him. After hearing about his other offers, however, it seems clear that we are not going to be a factor."

So many ions ago (last January) my dad bought me one of those Red Sox Nations citizen things so I could not only get the gameday audio package I usually buy, but also get little gems like this:

You and a guest could join Terry Francona, Manny Delcarmen, Jim Rice, Jerry Remy and Red Sox Front Office members as newly redesigned Club logos and select uniforms are unveiled!

Dear god, the hideous jersey are a reality. Then there is the this to further push that the new away uni is the ones Texy posted awhile ago. I don't know. I have no real problem with the dark navy lettering, hell, my favourite unis are the 1980's ones with the black lettering, but the red piping is awful. And don't get me started how it makes me hit an 11 on the OCD scale because the letters look so off center.

In other news, June 16-18 Marlins at Sox, anyone in? At best you'll get to watch me giggle over Hanley Ramirez, at worse I take the train and get to spend a day in Boston. Either way, it should be fun.

Okay, this picture, made me smile. Why is Seth Rogen not in my pants this very second? Chubby or at Green Hornet weight, the guy is just plain adorable. Seriously, I would not mind him watching me while I sleep all creepy sparkly vampire style.

Does anyone know who this is and possibly who took the picture? Every name in the book has been tossed around but no one can agree on one person. The poster was on my desk the other day and I need to figure this out.

It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone.

And now the waiting game begins until the trucks start to load up and each team heads south. And I'll be counting down the days until the long journey begins all over again.

Okay, now that the warm fuzzies are out of the way, I have one thing to ask: Is it bad that I cannot wait for class tomorrow so I can ask the annoying blonde in my class now that the Rays lost when she'll go back to not caring about the team again?

As far as the Phllies winning, I'm happy they did. Not because the Rays lost, cause lets face it, the Rays are a good team and an amazing story for baseball in general, but because of all the BS in Game 5. The game should have been called in the 4th. Hamels should have not been pitching in the insane rain that he was. That 6th inning should have never happened. Plus, as a fan I feel like the Rays needed that one heart breaking moment that would separate the "fans" they don't need and fans they deserve. In the long run I think it will help the Rays in the long run from becoming what sadly the Marlins became despite their success in 97 and 03, fire sales aside.

Oh, and the fact the Phillies fans booed Selig warmed my heart.

Finally, this one is for the one and only magiesox: Here's to you and the Wing celebrating and having a good time!
